August 13, 2005 - The museum took possession of an original CPR building from Beiseker.
This speeder shed was used in Beiseker by the CPR for many years by sectionmen that maintained the railway in the area. It's original location was near the CPR station that is now the village office. When CP Rail abandoned operations through Beiseker in 1995, the building was transferred to the Village of Beiseker. It has been used as a storage shed in the village garbage dump for the past 10 years.
We'd like to thank City Wide Towing of Calgary for their help with this move.
On August 13 the village donated the building to the museum. Below are the photos of the move to our property. History of the building is still being reaserched.

The wooden rails on the floor were used to roll the speeders in and out of storage. The wooden rails would extend outside the shed to a wooden crossing on the tracks. |
