September 18, 2005 - The museum's Grand Opening and First Spike Ceremony.

The event started at 1:00PM,

Canadian Pacific Railway's Puffer Belly was giving rides

The BBQ was fired up and the displays were opened to the public.

The Museum's handcar rides were a popular attraction.

Country 105 radio from Calgary was on site and did a radio spot about the museum.

MC, Kevin Rich, from CTV Calgary, introduced the special guests.

The 'First Spike Ceremony' was performed by the special guests following the speeches.

Speed spike driving demonstration, performed by CPR employees, Dale Winkler and Vern Graham.

Name tags were applied to railway ties purchased in the Museum's 'buy-a-tie' program.
